I think that a weekend away is a good opportunity to take a break from blogging about India and start a new series in the category Love Ireland!

It is obvious that summers in Ireland do not spoil us with sun and we can rarely organise a picnic in the park or barbecue at the beach but we can always go out and dine in the city centre. All pubs, bars and restaurant in Ireland are almost always busy and it is not dependent on the weather. Dinning out is very popular here. Actually you can have a nice meal everywhere but sometimes you can find really unique gems. Recently we have discovered some great places on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Last weekend we went to Kerry and spent one evening in Limerick on the way. When I think about this city I always have butterflies in my belly because this is where I went with my friends for my last hen trip:)

This time Limerick did not fail us either, even though it was raining all evening. We had a really good time in the newly opened Kyoto Sushi & Noodle restaurant. In my opinion, sushi is like an aphrodisiac and with a bottle of white wine it can make you really happy:)

I need to say I have my own list with the best sushi places and Kyoto in Limerick has gone to the top of this list. Everything is amazing there! Starting with the restaurant dΓ©cor which is very simple and cosy but you can definitely feel the Japanese influences there. The restaurant staff is very open minded and can quickly forecast what you are looking for and what you like. Our waiter recommended to us freshly caught tuna belly right away.

According to Paul it was delicious! I stayed with my own sushi πŸ™‚
Our sushi was divine! I had the best tempura prawn sushi roll ever!

After few minutes our table was loaded with some delightful dishes! For anyone who still my not know what sushi is, this is a quick introduction:
Sashimi – raw fish (or meat) sliced into thin pieces
Sushi – a type of Japanese food prepared with rice. Usually we associate sushi with raw seafood but it does not necessarily have to be this way.

There are so many types of sushi that sometimes you can feel lost, for example:
Nigri – a slice of fish served on a hand made shaped portion of rice
Maki – a cylindrical piece of rice and sea food or other ingredients wrapped in seaweed. Sometimes it is called Sushi roll and prepared with avocado, cucumber, asparagus, cottage cheese and sprinkled with sesame and sunflower seeds or caviar.
Of course, all this has to be served with soy sauce, wasabi and marinated ginger.

And how can you not fall in love with sushi? Or how to not love the world after good portion of sushi? πŸ™‚

However, if you are still hesitant about sushi, you can also eat some other dishes with Japanese influences in the Kyoto restaurant.

Such a good dinner should be finished with some desert! We decided to order a unique green tea cheesecake and mango ice cream.

After such a hearty meal it is good to drink a cup of green tea prepared with their own Kyoto recipe and a long walk along the Shannon river.

Did I convince you to add Kyoto Sushi & Noddle in Limerick to your holiday bucket list?
